PARISH ACTIVITIES
1st Sunday in Advent
Dec. 1-2: Blessing of Advent Wreath; 1st Candle is lit. We begin using readings from Cycle A of the Lectionary which features the Gospel according to Matthew.
All parishioners involved in liturgical ministries will receive a special blessing as the new Liturgical Year begins.
2nd Sunday in Advent
Dec. 8-9: 2nd candle is lit. Readings tell of St. John the Baptist and his ministry of preparing the world to receive the promised Messiah through his preaching and especially through baptism. The congregation will be sprinkled with Holy Water in place of the penitential rite.
3rd Sunday in Advent
Dec. 15-16: Gaudete (gow-DAY-tay) Sunday marks the joyous midpoint of Advent; the liturgical color softens from purple to rose; the rose colored candle is lit.
4th Sunday of Advent
Dec. 22-23: 4th candle is lit. Readings focus on Joseph and Mary preparing to become the parents of Jesus.
All Expectant Parents in the parish will receive a special blessing.

The Saint Vincent de Paul Society will be having their annual Christmas Bake Sale during the weekend of December 15-16. Please come prepared to take home some delicious homemade goodies.
